Animals #3 Fauna of Europe (part 3 – Warsaw and suburbs [2])

     Hi there!
In this update I will continue about fauna in Warsaw.
    3. Birds
In Warsaw birds are all around. The most common are Rock and Eurasian Collared Doves, Mute Swans, Mallards, Common Swifts, Western Jackdaws, Tits, Sparrows...
When you go to the Old City market you will spot some doves or sparrows. But when you go to more remote places you can spot even Woodpeckers.
Great place to watch birds is Łazienki park (there are not only peacocks!).
     4. Mammals
You don't have to go to the forest to see a Roe Deer or squirrel you can just go to Łazienki park. Bats? There are a lot of them in Bielany and Żoliborz district (during warm, summer evening – look up!). Same way is with foxes and hedgehoges. Warsaw is full of mammals.

I hope that you learn something about Warsaw fauna. The fact that Warsaw is huge agglomeration doesn't mean you can not spot there some interesting animals.

  1. Only this week I've had a woodpecker on my balcony, not to mention blue tits and noisy magpies.
And in the Kabacki forest you can see deer, wild boar, pheasants, hares and plenty other species with no difficulty. Have you seen street signs warning about hedgehogs?
